The Collaborators category includes professors with a contract or agreement signed with Ufes who contribute in a complementary or occasional way to the Program, whether teaching subjects, co-supervising dissertations or theses or collaborating in research projects. The category of visitors includes teachers or researchers with an administrative functional relationship with other institutions, Brazilian or not, who are formally released on a full-time basis, or retired, who contribute in a complementary or occasional way to the Program by teaching subjects for a determined period.

The work of visiting professors or researchers in the Program must be made possible by a fixed-term employment contract with the institution or by a grant granted for this purpose, by the institution itself or by a funding agency. All permanent professors can be supervisors at the Master's and Doctorate level as long as they meet all the accreditation criteria required by the CAPES Area Committee for guidance. Teachers and researchers from other Institutions will be able to join the permanent teaching staff of PPGBIOTEC in numbers established by the Academic Board based on the criteria established by the CAPES Area Committee.

The accreditation, dismissal and classification of faculty members must be approved by the Academic Board of the Program. The permanence and classification of faculty members in the Program will follow the following criteria: I. Permanent faculty members who do not present a profile of activities and publications required in the four-year period may be reclassified as collaborating faculty members. Collaborating faculty members who request and present a profile of activities and publications according to the previously mentioned criteria may be classified as permanent faculty members in the next four-year period. Collaborating faculty members who do not present a profile of activities will be suspended from the course board in the next four-year period, and may return when they meet the requirements of the Program. The categorization of teachers will be reviewed annually, although the criteria used for evaluation take into account the teacher's four-year scientific production.
